School events for the week of Oct 20th-26th.
The FFA Booster Club Brisket & Pulled Pork Dinner is open to the public. October 19th from 5:00 PM - 8:00 P.M. at the Verona School Cafeteria. Cost: $14/Adult & $7/Child. They are serving Brisket, Pulled Pork, Cheesy Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn, Roll, Cheesecake or Cake, Lemonade, Tea, or Water. There will also be a Bake Sale and Silent Auction. All money earned will help pay for the students to attend National and State FFA Convention , FFA Camp, College Scholarships, and other trips the students earn the opportunity to attend.
Our kindergarteners had a fantastic time today with the big kids visiting our classroom for a special Missouri Day presentation! 🎉 The older students shared so many fun facts about our state, and it was amazing to see our little ones so engaged and excited to learn from them.
Crafty snacks are a big deal in our kindergarten class! The students ask every day if it’s Crafty Snack Thursday yet—and today, they finally got to create their spooky spider snacks! This activity helps us connect our lessons with fine motor skills, math and literacy in a way that’s both fun and memorable!

We had a day of pumpkins in Mrs. Shook's classroom. We learned about pumpkins with Pumpkin Jack! This pumpkin grew from the seeds of our Pumpkin Jack last year. Then for math, we used candy corn and candy pumpkins to help us learn.
High School Student Council is hosting the first ever "Spook Walk" through the halls of Verona schools on October 24th . It is open to all K-8 students and their families! Admission is $2 a student with parents getting in free.

Congratulations to Emily Ayres and Olivia Freiberger. Both of them will be moving on to districts for their Fall FFA Speeches November 8th at Aurora. Emily placed second in her teach ag speech and Olivia placed third in Forrest product speech.

Grades 7, 8, and 9 celebrated their good attendance with a giant cookie and ice cream party! To qualify the grade level had to achieve 95% attendance during the last 3 weeks of September. Congratulations on your great attendance!!!

Kindergarten had a blast at our fun fashion show to celebrate finishing ABC Bootcamp! The kids rocked their letters and sounds on the runway! We also had a great time supporting Feed America with the FFA kids this morning!
